Role Summary/Purpose
The Procurement Assistant supports the purchasing and supply chain functions of the organization by assisting in sourcing, ordering, and maintaining inventory of goods and services. This role ensures that procurement processes are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies. The Procurement Assistant works closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to track orders, prepare documentation, and maintain accurate records. By providing timely and reliable support to the procurement team, the role contributes to smooth operations and effective resource management.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration or in Engineering
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement and purchasing within the MEP or construction field, preferably gained in the candidate’s home country.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with ERP or procurement software is an advantage.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with vendors and internal departments.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate records.
- Analytical Skills: Basic understanding of pricing, quotations, and cost comparisons.
- Interpersonal Skills: Team-oriented, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Other Requirements: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Integrity and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
