Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential health and safety hazards.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with local and national regulations.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, or near misses and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for hazard control and risk mitigation.
- Provide safety training and induction sessions for new employees and contractors.
- Maintain records of inspections, training, incidents, and other safety-related activities.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a positive safety culture.
- Stay updated with changes in safety legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Participate in safety meetings and committees as required.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is a must.
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
