- Job Summary:
Al Ain Palace Hospitality is seeking a capable and driven Sous Chef to take full charge of its kitchen operations, with a focus on catering services. This role is ideal for a culinary professional with strong leadership skills and a solid foundation in Arabic, Continental, and Indian cuisines. The Sous Chef will be directly responsible for managing the kitchen team, ensuring high food quality and safety standards, and will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations for catering and production services.
- Develop and execute menus with emphasis on Arabic, Continental, and Indian cuisines.
- Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, supervision, and performance management.
- Ensure strict compliance with HACCP and UAE food safety standards.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and control of food costs and wastage.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food presentation at all times.
- Coordinate closely with the Operations Manager to plan catering requirements and support business needs.
- Take full ownership of kitchen readiness for all internal and external events.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or in-charge role.
- Proven experience in catering operations or high-volume food production.
- Expertise in preparing Arabic, Continental, and Indian cuisines.
- Certified in HACCP or equivalent food safety programs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a team and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
- Computer literacy for inventory and menu planning systems.
- Bilingual (Arabic/English) is an added advantage.
