Roles & Responsibilities
The BIM Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and procedures across the project, ensuring that all site supervision works are executed with high precision and efficiency. The BIM Manager will work closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants, to deliver the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead the development and execution of the BIM strategy for the project. Ensure that BIM processes are adhered to from project inception through to handover, ensuring seamless integration across all disciplines involved in the project.
- Manage and coordinate BIM efforts across the site supervision team, liaising with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure coordination of all disciplines within the BIM model.
- Oversee the creation, management, and quality control of the project’s BIM models. Ensure that all project data is accurately represented and up to date, including the integration of different disciplines’ models.
- Provide technical expertise in BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant BIM tools) to the team and advise on best practices in BIM implementation.
- Conduct regular clash detection reviews, identify potential design conflicts or errors, and facilitate resolution meetings with the relevant parties to ensure smooth execution of the project.
- Support the site team in resolving site-related issues by referencing the BIM model for accurate and up-to-date project data.
- Ensure that all BIM-related activities are in compliance with the project specifications, client requirements, and local regulations. Conduct regular reviews to ensure model accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
- Prepare and maintain BIM-related documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and technical reports for both internal and client-facing stakeholders.
- Stay current with new BIM technologies, trends, and standards, and assess their applicability to the project to ensure that the most advanced and efficient methods are being used.
- Identify potential risks in the BIM workflow and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure proactive solutions are in place for any delays or issues.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including the project team, consultants, and clients, ensuring that all parties are aligned and well-informed on project developments and BIM-related tasks.
Experience & Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification in BIM or related areas will be considered a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry, with at least 5 years of direct experience in managing BIM processes on large-scale projects.
- Must have substantial experience working in the UAE or GCC region, with a thorough understanding of local regulations, construction standards, and BIM practices.
- Proven track record of managing BIM processes for a wide range of project typologies, including but not limited to hospitality, luxury residential, mixed-use developments, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- Advanced proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC and other relevant tools. Familiarity with 3D modelling, clash detection, and project management software is essential.
- Must Have Experience with BIM Industry Standards PAS1192, BS1192 and ISO19650.
- Experience in Cost X and Synchro is an Added Advantage.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing a multidisciplinary team, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders across the project.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and site supervision practices.
- Building SMART or similar BIM-related certifications are a plus.
- PMP, LEED, or similar project management or sustainability certifications are a plus.
