Reports to: Senior Procurement Manager
Business Unit Purpose:
To support EKFC*s operations by procuring high-quality goods and services at optimal value through ethical, efficient, and strategic sourcing practices that align with organisational goals.
Job Purpose:
To manage and execute the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories, ensuring timely sourcing, tendering, ordering, and supplier engagement to meet operational needs while maintaining compliance with EKFC procurement policies and standards.
Key Result Areas:
Prepare and evaluate tenders related to assigned categories in coordination with Sourcing Specialists and the Senior Procurement Manager to ensure alignment with operational and budgetary requirements.
Review and respond to daily general procurement correspondence, resolving routine issues in a timely and professional manner.
Gather and analyse product information, specifications, quality standards, and consumption forecasts from various departments to support accurate tender documentation and decision-making.
Review purchase requisitions and initiate procurement actions once all necessary internal approvals are confirmed.
Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service and favourable terms.
Stay informed of current market trends and pricing, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of suppliers, product catalogues, and pricing structures.
Solicit quotations from qualified suppliers and select the most appropriate vendor based on a balanced evaluation of quality, cost, reliability, and lead time.
Evaluate and recommend supplier options through site visits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with EKFC*s standards and future business needs.
Participate in supplier meetings for price negotiations and contract formation, in collaboration with Sourcing Specialists and the Senior Manager.
Negotiate value-added discounts and benefits across all purchasing categories while ensuring adherence to company policies and ethical procurement standards.
Proactively identify and reject non-compliant transactions, suggesting suitable alternative products or suppliers in alignment with business requirements.
Attend local exhibitions and industry events to expand the supplier base and enhance EKFC*s market insight and sourcing options.
Promote and adhere to Corporate Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) responsibilities in all procurement activities.
Job Context:
This role operates within a dynamic and time-sensitive environment that supports the daily operational needs of a high-volume catering and service business. The Buyer must coordinate across departments, respond quickly to evolving requirements, and ensure procurement integrity in line with company procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor*s degree (mandatory)
Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant procurement role
Experience in category management or buying, preferably within the food, catering, or hospitality industry
Familiarity with sourcing processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
Effective planning and organisational abilities with a focus on multi-tasking and time management
Proven capability in administrative coordination and record management
Ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships across departments
