Chargehand – Joinery
We are seeking an experienced Chargehand – Joinery to lead and supervise joinery production activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in joinery, be able to read and interpret drawings, prepare cutting lists, and manage a team of 50 carpenters. This role requires hands-on leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to ensure timely and high-quality production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of approximately 50 carpenters in the workshop.
- Read and interpret technical, architectural, and shop drawings accurately.
- Prepare cutting lists and material take-offs to ensure efficient production.
- Coordinate daily production activities with the Production Manager.
- Monitor production workflow to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and quality control throughout the production process.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical support to foremen and carpenters.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Maintain records of production progress, manpower deployment, and material usage.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies in the workshop.
Requirements:
- 5–10 years of experience in joinery production within the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing, processes, tools, and finishes.
- Ability to prepare cutting lists and interpret detailed drawings.
- Proven experience in managing large teams of carpenters and foremen.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and result-driven.
