- Handle customer inquiries: Communicate with customers through various channels, such as phone calls, emails, live chats, or social media.
- Resolve customer complaints: De-escalate situations with dissatisfied customers by listening to their concerns and finding appropriate solutions or alternatives within a set timeframe.
- Process transactions: Handle customer requests for returns, exchanges, cancellations, and order modifications.
- Provide information: Offer detailed and accurate information about a company's products, services, and policies.
- Manage customer accounts: Keep detailed records of all customer interactions, process accounts, and update customer information in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Generate sales leads: In some roles, CSRs may be responsible for identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services to customers.
