Introduction
J.P. Morgan Export & Agency Finance (“EAF”) is a group of professionals within Trade & Working Capital focused on structuring and arranging structured debt solutions aimed at meeting our clients’ unique financing needs across a highly collaborative global platform. We partner with export credit agencies (“ECAs”), multilateral agencies (“MLAs”) and development finance institutions (“DFIs”) (each an “Agency” and together “Agencies”) to support our clients with financing solutions that feature credit enhancements or direct lending from relevant Agencies. ECAs are established by governments to promote national exports. DFIs and MLAs are public financing institutions with economic development missions.
Job Summary
As the Vice President in the Export and Agency Finance Middle East, North Africa, Türkiye and CIS ("MENA") team within Trade and Working Capital, you will be responsible for assisting in the origination and execution of EAF MENA transactions, as well as managing the MENA-based Agency programs and associated relationships. You will also play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with internal and market partners to support the global J.P. Morgan EAF franchise. Your geographic responsibility will include the origination and execution of Agency-supported financing with MENAT-based clients and MENA-based Agencies supporting transactions globally.
Job responsibilities
- Contribute to deal life cycle: from origination to execution and subsequent transition to portfolio management.
- Support senior transaction professionals globally in advancing the transaction deal life cycle.
- Assist in work streams including: marketing materials, pricing models, internal deal memos and execution documentation.
- Apply deal structuring considerations, that include "boxes and arrows" and cash-flow based financial modeling.
- Take ownership of internal systems and processes, produce pipeline reporting and provide analytics for senior management.
- Ensure alignment with JPMorgan internal operating procedures and policies, contribute to content development for internal & external thought leadership.
- Build & leverage internal network, principally with colleagues in Global Trade & Working Capital, Global Corporate & Investment Bank and Commercial Bank, as well as with Infrastructure Advisory Finance, Markets and Debt Capital Markets product partners and other functions within Payments, as appropriate.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Applied experience in cross-border debt financing with MENA deal experience and the relevant level of EAF experience to perform the role effectively
- Experience in originating, structuring and executing Agency supported financings
- Reviewing and negotiating legal documentation
- Possess business communication and analytical skills
- Have the understanding of J.P. Morgan's risk management policies and tools
- Ability to carry out analysis for comparing alternative financing structures
- Ability to develop relationship management proficiencies with internal & external clients and leadership skills by acting as a go-to person for certain aspects of deal management
- Have a strong understanding of environmental, social and governance considerations surrounding international financing of projects
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Understanding of corporate financing, project financing as well as different sector-specific financing structures (e.g. shipping, aviation, etc) through proven professional experience
- Understanding of J.P. Morgan's internal processes (e.g. credit, environmental, compliance, etc)
- Advanced skill in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and project management capability
- Arabic or Turkish language skills are a plus
