The Fabrication Officer oversees the daily operations of the fabrication department, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective production of wire mesh products and custom metal fabrications. This role requires hands-on leadership, team management, quality control, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of fabrication staff to meet production goals.
- Strong knowledge of metalworking processes such as cutting, bending, welding, and finishing.
- Review fabrication drawings and production plans to allocate manpower and materials.
- Ensure products are fabricated according to specifications and within tolerance limits.
- Monitor employee performance and provide training, coaching, and discipline as needed.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain fabrication equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Optimize processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Report daily production output, delays, and equipment issues to upper management.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in UAE.
- Strong knowledge of metalworking processes such as cutting, bending, welding, and finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
- Familiar with lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using fabrication tools and equipment; knowledge of CNC and automation is a plus.
