Position Overview:
The GX Manager / Floor Manager will oversee the daily operations of the group exercise program and gym floor, ensuring members receive exceptional service, classes are delivered to the highest standard, and the fitness area operates efficiently. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for fitness.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Exercise Management:
- Plan, schedule, and manage the club’s group exercise timetable.
- Recruit, train, and manage group exercise instructors.
- Ensure classes are engaging, safe, and aligned with club standards.
- Introduce new fitness trends and programs to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
- Monitor class attendance and member feedback to optimize scheduling.
Floor Management:
- Supervise the gym floor, ensuring it is clean, safe, and fully equipped.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance/training as needed.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and promptly report issues to the relevant department.
- Handle member concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare reports on class performance, attendance, and member satisfaction.
- Manage staff rosters for instructors and floor staff.
- Coordinate with other departments (sales, reception, maintenance) for smooth club operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the fitness industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Knowledge of current fitness trends and group exercise formats.
- Certified fitness or group exercise instructor (Functional Workout, Zumba, Yoga, etc. preferred).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of gym management software is a plus.
