Job Summary:
The Head Mixologist is responsible for creating and managing the beverage program across the hotel’s bars and outlets. This includes developing innovative cocktails, training and supervising bartending staff, maintaining bar standards, managing inventory, and ensuring all drinks are prepared and served to the highest standards in alignment with health, safety, and brand guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to bartenders to ensure exceptional guest service.
- Develop and introduce unique cocktail recipes and signature beverage offerings tailored to the venue and clientele.
- Train bartending team on proper preparation, presentation, and service techniques.
- Supervise and maintain high standards of bar and table service across all outlets.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of bar areas and equipment.
- Address and resolve bar-related issues promptly to avoid service disruptions.
- Maintain and update training schedules and records for all bar associates.
- Assist in wine menu creation and offer food pairing recommendations.
- Actively implement up-selling strategies to enhance guest experience and boost revenue.
- Maintain documentation such as:
- Cleaning schedules (daily/weekly)
- Fridge temperature logs
- Beverage spoilage reports
- Store request forms
- Beverage transfer sheets between departments
Job Specifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational Diploma or Certification in Hospitality or Bartending (preferred).
Qualifications:
- Train The Trainer certification.
- Basic HACCP certification.
- Basic Food Hygiene certification.
- WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Certification – Minimum Level 1.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role within a comparable hotel or property rating.
- Knowledge of cashiering procedures and POS systems.
Computer Skills:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Language Skills:
- Intermediate English communication skills (verbal and written).
