Role Overview:
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth daily operations of our production kitchen. You will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring the kitchen operates in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and packaging of food items.
- Follow recipes and instructions given by the Production Supervisor/Chef.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to company hygiene standards.
- Handle and store food products properly to ensure freshness and prevent contamination.
- Assist in the preparation of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch.
- Adhere to all health & safety and food safety regulations in compliance with HACCP standards.
- Report any stock shortages, equipment malfunctions, or health hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Support in receiving and organizing incoming stock deliveries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or food production environment is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Physically fit and able to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good communication skills in English.
