he Body Shop In‑Charge leads the daily operations of the automotive repair workshop—overseeing repair quality, workflow, inventory, training, and customer service—to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable body repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of body technicians, painters, and support staff.
- Schedule repair jobs to meet deadlines and align resources with priorities.
- Inspect in‑progress and finished jobs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Handle customer communication, estimates, insurance liaison, and complaint resolution.
- Manage parts and supply inventory; order and track usage efficiently.
- Implement safety and environmental protocols within the shop.
- Train and develop staff through feedback, coaching, and skills training.
- Monitor KPIs and prepare performance reports on productivity and profitability.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g. service, parts) to support overall business flow.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in automotive technology or business is a plus.
- 3–5+ years of experience in auto body repair with prior supervisory or managerial roles.
- ASE or I‑CAR certification preferred.
- Proficiency with collision/legal estimating systems and auto‑repair software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Customer‑service orientation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Financial acumen: budget oversight, cost control, and KPI management.
- Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and physical stamina for hands‑on oversight.
