Purpose of the role:
The QA & Field Training Coach plays a pivotal role in implementing retail food safety systems, ensuring crew members acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to meet brand standards. They actively participate in quality inspections, innovation, and product checks while developing best practices to address organizational development needs.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial
• Food Safety Audit Improvement Recommendations: Identify areas for improvement in food safety audits to enhance operational efficiency and minimize potential financial risks associated with non-compliance.
• Timely Quality Audits: Ensure timely quality audits in stores of assigned brands to maintain high standards, potentially reducing costs related to poor quality control.
Customer
• Ensuring Food Safety Standards: Communicate and enforce food safety management systems with staff to uphold customer trust in the quality and safety of products.
• Food Safety & Quality Audits and Improvement: Undertake quality audits of assigned brands to ensure customer satisfaction, guide the Ops team for taking required corrective and preventive actions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Internal Business Process
• Audit Completion & Corrective Action: Complete food safety audits in outlets, CMLs, Accommodation & Warehouses of assigned brands as per agreed frequency, recommending corrective actions to optimize internal processes. During each visit, verify the corrective actions taken by the Operations team in response to previous findings.
• Pre-Handover and Pre-Opening Audits: Perform audits before handing over projects to assure snag-free stores and ensure compliance with RFSS pre-requisites for new outlets.
• Monthly Training Updates and Feedback: Share monthly training updates and feedback with the Assistant Training Manager/Assistant Manager to track progress and enhance training methods for improved internal processes.
People
Field Training Delivery:
- Deliver interactive field training sessions to front-line crew members using new technology, ensuring they are equipped to deliver excellent service.
Training for New Launches:
- Ensure all staff are trained and aligned before the launch of new campaigns, products, or procedure changes to maintain service standards.
- QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/ Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in Food Safety Management Systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is preferred.
- Training certification in conducting food safety audits and field training programs.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety management, or related fields within the retail or food service industry.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting food safety audits, implementing quality standards, and delivering field training programs.
- Proven track record of identifying improvement opportunities and driving positive change in quality and training processes.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in the retail food industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in developing training materials, conducting interactive training sessions, and evaluating training effectiveness.
- Analytical skills to assess quality audit findings, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
