Job Description
Job Objective:
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and self-driven Regional Sales Manager for East Africa to contribute to our company’s sales objectives. Your responsibilities include direct accountability of sales targets, business opportunities, growing and maintaining our channel business in the region Ultimately, you should aspire to develop and maintain successful relationships with Distributors, large resellers, key accounts and develop new customers.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience managing distribution, Channel and Retail sector while taking accountability for expanding client’s depth, breadth and market reach. You will also work to maintain strong relationships with existing distributors and customers. This role requires strong leadership, sales skills, and familiarity with the channel Business in East Africa, particularly Kenya.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve the quarterly sales targets. Work closely with Distributors, assigning quarterly targets for the key accounts and Power retailers.
- Identify the key retailers/wholesalers and develop/build the market for our SanDisk retail Brand
- The ability to be able to build a business / country plan and execute it that will include: distribution structure – Sales & marketing plan – etc.
- Identify the key System integrators/Partners and develop/build the market for the cSSD Business
- Work closely with Distributors and channel retail partners to manage:
- Pricing
- Stock Distribution
- Orders, inventory and Forecast
- Quarterly promotions
- Develop and expand new and existing Channel/ Retail Business in the East Africa Region, resulting in increasing the business and gain market share.
- Collect, compile, and analyze information, i.e., competitive information, market dynamics and activities to utilize in decision-making and business strategies.
- Build on alliances with Mobile, Camera and IT Devices vendors to help develop and grow our product attachment business model
- Collaborate with and through other departments within the company to ensure that all sales activities meet/satisfy all business and/or legal requirements.
- Develop the IT Channel business with focus on Client SSD
- Work closely with our marketing team to identify opportunities, plan for these opportunities and execute it within the quarter.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
- 6 + years of related experience in a similar sales role.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop new business.
- Strong network within East Africa Channel market.
- Will require 50% Travel
- Self-motivated with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
Preffered:
- Strong knowledge in Channel/ Retail sales.
- Effectively uses sales process, tools, and qualification procedures.
- Strong experience in the retail industry with good knowledge of the market dynamics
- Influence behavior and develop relationships with senior managers.
Skills:
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion and communication skills.
- Ability to handle complex situations and work under pressure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and volatile market dynamics while maintaining the overall goals proactive rather reactive.
- Independent and adaptive team player
- Strong command of the Microsoft apps.
