Leadership
- Assist GCAA top management in developing and organization-wide vision aligned with the strategic objectives. Evaluate and report on the organisation strategic and operational performance to the GCAA management reflecting the contribution to the UAE aviation industry towards the proper positioning in fierce global competition.
- Develop the functional strategy for the organisation and ensure that the vision, mission, and strategy are cascaded down to the departments to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration of all functional strategies across GCAA.
- Develop, formulate, and implement the organisation’s departmental strategies and strategic plans, in line with the vision and mission of GCAA.
- Manage the preparation of GCAA’s operational plans in timely manner using the best methodologies and in compliance with the best practices.
- Lead and Director the effective achievement of departmental strategic and functional objectives – setting individual objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff, providing formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance and achievements.
- Lead and manage the team members of the business units by instilling the values of the “Corporate Path” which is including setting individual objectives, selecting qualified staff, monitoring performance, provision feedback, in order to maximize subordinate and performance.
Corporate Strategy
- Direct resources to support the identification and formulation of the organisation’s strategic recommendations. Ensure business as well as the financial alignment. Support the development, maintenance, consolidation, and monitoring the organisation strategic and operational planning process.
- Direct resources to facilitate workshops, introduce strategy tools and techniques to equip the organisation business leaders to come up with proper aligned functional strategic directions.
- Support GCAA departments in developing and formulating their Strategies and strategic plans and align them with the GCAA vision and mission and the Government Strategies.
Corporate Excellence
- Director the development and application of quality systems and models to meet the requirements of the institutional performance and excellence as directed by Federal Government Excellence programs.
- Recommend and oversee Process Re-engineering and Improvement Initiatives across the GCAA while working closely with core and support sectors in identifying root causes responsible for performance degradation
- Oversee the implementation innovative solutions to resolve critical business issues which are impacting process performance and ultimately achieve operational business excellence
- Direct and oversee the conducting of excellence reviews and analysis for all GCAA functions. Develop excellence enhancement plans and lead the improvement initiatives to consequently improve the performance.
Corporate Performance
- Direct resources to support the identification of key performance indicators and targets for the organisation’s services and mentor the performance.
- Direct resources to prepare periodic reports reflecting the strategic objectives operational results and provide recommendation for proper alignment ensuring that all business units are on proper track.
- Direct the resources to collect, analyse, and maintain statistics on the UAE aviation system. Direct resources to participate in conducting research, studies, and surveys related to the aviation system, also to collect, analyse and establish the statistics data base.
Corporate Initiatives
- Direct the establishment of Corporate Initiatives management function that drive the overall direction, coordination, and execution of complex initiatives with various work streams, and ensure consistency with GCAA strategy, commitments, and goals.
- Direct the Development, Implementation, and management of specific awards programs such as SHMBR Global Aviation Award, Aeronnovation Award, Drone Show, etc. This includes directing the development of award framework such as scope, evaluation methodology, eligibility criteria etc.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Develop and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to stakeholders.
- Lead the resources towards full compliance and implementation of GCAA’s Policies, systems, processes, and procedures.
Internal Surveillance Programme
- Direct resources to implement corrective actions raised against the department under the internal surveillance programme to align with international standards and continuous improvement.
Change Management
- Implement the management of change through continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
Reporting
- Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.
Health, Safety and Environment within GCAA
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards.
Other Tasks/ Accountability
- Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.
