About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven EPC Project Manager – Solar PV to lead the execution of medium to large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across the United Arab Emirates. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless delivery of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects from initiation through to commissioning.
As a strategic leader, you will oversee all phases of project execution, working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, O&M, and finance teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and stakeholder management skills specific to the UAE solar industry.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Manage full lifecycle of on-grid solar PV EPC projects across the UAE.
- Ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget while meeting technical specifications.
- Oversee engineering design coordination, procurement, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
- Monitor contractor/supplier performance and apply corrective actions as needed.
- Enforce adherence to schedules, budgets, and contractual obligations.
- Report on project status, KPIs, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison between internal departments, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and procurement for material timelines and design alignment.
- Supervise site teams to ensure construction aligns with design and HSE standards.
- Liaise with government and utility authorities (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA) for inspections, permits, and grid connections.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure project compliance with UAE regulations, HSE policies, and international engineering codes.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and manage third-party testing and certifications.
- Lead HSE meetings, enforce site safety protocols, and maintain safety documentation.
Financial Management
- Monitor and control project budgets, cash flows, and change orders.
- Validate and certify subcontractor claims and payments.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate with finance for reporting, invoicing, and payment schedules.
Tendering & Technical Input
- Support Business Development and Estimation during tender submissions.
- Review drawings/specs for constructability and compliance.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and participate in clarifications.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
- 4–6 years of EPC or infrastructure project management experience (Solar PV/BESS preferred).
- Proven delivery of solar PV projects in the UAE, with strong authority coordination experience.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
- Valid UAE driving license is required.
Key Skills
- In-depth knowledge of UAE construction regulations and DSO/grid connection processes.
- Strong command of project management tools (Primavera P6 or MS Project).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; understanding of AutoCAD and PVsyst is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel within the UAE for site visits, stakeholder meetings, and inspections.
