Travel Consultant Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team. The responsibilities of the travel Consultant include optimising our travel operations, making travel arrangements over the phone or the Internet and providing guidance on travel arrangements.
To be a successful travel Consultant, you should have a strong working knowledge of travel management processes and excellent attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch travel manager is skilled at maintaining positive relationships with our safari vendors and hotels and at providing a smooth travel experience to clients.
Role & responsibilities
- Maintaining positive relationships with vendors of direct travel such as local vendors, park vendors and transport, hotel group.
- Negotiating preferred rates with vendors of direct travel.
- Planning travel accommodations, VISA, booking, local tours, attractions tickets, hotels, car rentals, and coordinating activities.
- Managing and processing all travel-related documentation, including real time payments tracking, itineraries preparations, and voucher making.
- Assisting with any travel-related issues that may arise.
- Researching travel deals and evaluating prices and services.
- You may assigned to any hotel to seat and handle our travel desk.
Preferred candidate profile
- A bachelor's degree in any stream (in tourism may be preferred), travel or hospitality.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the travel industry.
- Knowledge of travel management processes.
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors of direct travel (existing relationships may be advantageous).
- Good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- A basic understanding of Geography.
- Strong computer skills
