Overview
We’re looking for a compassionate Practical Midwife to join our Labor & Delivery team. In this role, you’ll support mothers through all stages of childbirth, assist during deliveries, and provide newborn care under the supervision of a Registered Midwife.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing care during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages under supervision
- Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing, including interpreting CTG and observing labor progress
- Support obstetricians and pediatricians during deliveries and newborn care
- Provide comfort, education, and emotional support to mothers and families
- Assist with breastfeeding, newborn feeding, and skin-to-skin practices
- Document patient data accurately in the EMR
- Participate in quality and safety practices, infection control, and emergency preparedness
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and contribute to safe, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing with additional Midwifery qualification
- Current Department of Health (DOH) license as a Practical Midwife or Assistant Midwife
- Minimum 2 years of post-midwifery qualification experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
