Infection Control Nurse – Republic of Nauru
Location: Nauru Medical Centre, Republic of Nauru
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Control Nurse to join our healthcare team at the Nauru Medical Centre. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a resource-limited island setting, ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across all clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control (IPC) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits, surveillance, and risk assessments to minimize infection risks.
- Provide education and training to clinical and non-clinical staff on IPC protocols.
- Monitor outbreaks and coordinate effective response strategies.
- Ensure compliance with international infection control standards and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent).
- Current nursing license/registration.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in infection prevention and control.
- Strong knowledge of IPC guidelines, outbreak management, and surveillance systems.
- Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, resource-limited environment.
