Ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, medications and supplies for pharmacy department.
- Assisting the store executive for ordering and receipt of medication, stock, and supplies for the pharmacy; uses the department’s computer system to maintain verification of all transactions.
- Assist pharmacy staff in suggesting product substitutions when necessary.
- Inspects items received for accurate quantity condition, batch number and expiry; verifies that stock meets specifications and that orders are complete.
- Stores and rotate supplies to ensure that items do not expire before use.
- Maintaining the stock based on movement. Tracking fast- and slow-moving medications. Investigate wrong quantity billing and discrepancy, Inform the pharmacist to liquidate the nonmoving items. Maintains a record of stock received and issued.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and orderly storeroom.
- Performs inventory of stock supplies on a weekly basis; supervise inventory maintenance and determine redistribution actions for stored medications when necessary.
- Evaluate supply needs, perishability, hazardous nature of medications, and storage limitations.
- Document storeroom operations and inventory control.
- Supervises the activities of Bar coder by directing or assigning work.
- Prepare Purchase requisition in the absence of store executive and follow up the order with main store.
- Physical verification of document / inventory control using ERP based inventory package.
- Tracking the movement of items daily basis and assisting the store executive to maintain the stock level. Investigate wrong quantity billing and discrepancy, Inform the pharmacist to liquidate the nonmoving items.
- Reconciliation of stock transfer reports from the main warehouse.
- Handling miscellaneous related work, refilling the stationary items based on the need from the general store.
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply with those requirements.
- Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
- Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
- At least a graduate Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) with previous storeroom experience may be preferred.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Good English spoken & written; Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
- Appropriate related training / seminars in Store Management are advantageous. (i.e., ISO 9000 awareness certificate, Diploma in Stores Management, etc.).
