Job Purpose: The Manager Business Improvement will manage the business improvement strategy of dnata Airport Operationsm (AO) by continually reviewing both the strategic and operational practices and processes, identifying more innovative, efficient, practical and productive ways of conducting the business, including but not limited to resource/equipment planning, financial analysis, long-term planning, operations and other related issues. Job Outline: Generic - Formulate the strategic long term plan / forecast for dnAO. Maintain, update and monitor the plan accounting for changing requirements of the business. Ensure completion of financially sound business cases for all recommendations. - Ensures that the Board Members are briefed about the specific topics that will be discussed in each Board and coordinate the internal approach - Advise at DSVP, SVP and VP levels productivity and process improvement opportunities providing operational and strategic business advice. Influence at EVP and Presidential levels to ensure that internal corporate departments buy-in to the strategies and amend current practices, processes or policies to achieve the identified cost savings and tangible results. - Liaise with the Performance Development department to keep up-to-date with corporate initiatives and take the lead in sharing learnings, maintaining networks, and exchanging information regarding the cost saving strategies being deployed within dnata. Involve external and internal support functions (Finance, HR, Safety, Dubai Airport etc.) in plans and strategies to ensure effective implementation and on-going management of the agreed activities. Keep abreast of industry standards / processes and initiate trials and site visits for benchmarking. - Agree on dnAO KPIs ensuring it is aligned with the Corporate KPIs. Monitor and regularly communicate dnAO business units performance against target. - Drive innovative solutions through team creativity and ensure a collaborative approach with other dnata business units within Airport Operations, including the use of all dnata mandated technological solutions (INFORM, PROVEO, AACS, Ultramain, DeNA etc). - Ensures the safety of staff, by support and development of a culture where all the people working in the department possess the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely, feel respected and are engaged in helping everyone stay safe. Role model for the desired safe behaviours, wear the PPE when required, lead with safety, seek opportunities to celebrate successes and achievements and challenge others when risks are seen. Accountabilities specific to Manpower Planning: - Provides high level manpower planning support to all dnata Airport Operations cost centre holders in the preparation of manpower plans to support the annual budget process. Ensure that the plan, once budget approved, is implemented and routinely monitored (budget vs. actual). - Lead and guide the resource planning team in the analysis and evaluation of manpower requirements to enable senior management make informed decisions based on EK/OAL expansion and operations. - Conduct 'what if' scenarios on airport capacity and processes in order to assess operational strategies, capacity constraints, and passenger flow bottlenecks in response to changes in operating plan for Dubai Aiport and/or future facilities. - System enhancement: Define, and propose all relevant IT system requirements/emhancement for dnAO resource planning units, ensuring maximum integration amongst the existing systems and eliminating any duplication. Accountabilities specific to Project and Performance Management: - Identify priority projects and performance improvement opportunities across dnata Airport Operations. Initiate and manage projects to meet defined business requirements. Ensure project progression, quality and outputs are consistent with agreed cost, scope and targets and resulting in measurable change and innovation across the department. - Accountable for leading the programme office (PMO) and setting the standards for implementation of all projects across Airport Operations. - Set the necessary communication and reporting across dnata Airport Operations on project progress. Coordinate scope, approach, resources and timelines for projects. Ensure alignment with one dnata. Emirates group and IT transformation initiatives in order to maximise customer benefit of each project. - Liaise with the Performance Development department and equivalent PMO organisations within Emirates Group and one dnata to keep up-to-date with corporate initiatives and take the lead in sharing learnings, maintaining networks, and exchanging information regarding the cost saving strategies being deployed within dnata. Involve external and internal support functions (Finance, HR, Safety, Dubai Airport etc.) in plans and strategies to ensure effective implementation and on-going management of the agreed activities. Maintain, update and monitor the plan accounting for changing requirements of the business. Ensure completion of financially sound business cases for all recommendations. - Advise senior managers productivity levels and process improvement opportunities providing operational and strategic business advice. Influence senior managers to ensure that internal corporate departments buy-in to the strategies and amend current practices, processes or policies to achieve the identified cost savings and tangible results.
Qualifications & Experience: - Airport Operations - 10+ Years - Degree or Honours - Relevant industry experience preferably with a major airline or ground handling company Knowledge/skills: - Manpower planning principles preferably with application in the airline industry or other industries with typical large manpower bases, trending & forecasting, analytical skills, test scenario generation and sensitivity analysis experimenting.
