Academic Counselor (Internship)
Role Summary
We’re seeking a proactive and empathetic Academic Counselor Intern to support students in navigating their academic journey. This internship offers hands-on experience in student advising, academic planning, and career guidance, while working closely with experienced counselors and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in advising students on course selection, academic goals, and graduation requirements
- Support students in understanding institutional policies and procedures
- Help organize and facilitate workshops on study skills, time management, and career planning
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Participate in one-on-one and group counseling sessions under supervision
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify students needing additional support
- Contribute to outreach initiatives such as orientation programs and academic events
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathetic, patient, and student-focused mindset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Familiarity with academic systems or student databases is a plus
