About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced In-House Mechanic to manage the daily maintenance and minor repairs of our Ashok Leyland Partner trucks and Mitsubishi Canter. The candidate will also assist in fleet coordination and support daily truck operations. The ideal person should have hands-on experience with Ashok Leyland commercial vehicles in the UAE and must be proactive in reducing downtime through preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily routine checks and preventive maintenance for all company trucks (Ashok Leyland + Canter).
- Handle minor repairs in-house (oil change, filters, brake pads, batteries, tyres, etc.).
- Diagnose breakdown issues and coordinate with garages for major repairs when required.
- Maintain proper service and maintenance records for all trucks.
- Assist with fleet coordination and monitor truck performance.
- Coordinate directly with drivers for maintenance, cleanliness, and reporting issues.
- Drive trucks if needed for testing, deliveries, or breakdown recovery (if holding a UAE license).
- Manage scheduling for garage visits to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years UAE/GCC experience working on Ashok Leyland trucks.
- Good understanding of diesel engines, electricals, brakes, suspension, and general mechanics.
- Experience in fleet management / transport operations is a plus.
- Familiar with garages and suppliers for parts in Dubai / Sharjah / UAE.
- Can communicate in Hindi / English (Basic English sufficient).
- UAE Heavy Vehicle Driving License is preferred (optional but an advantage).
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of Ashok Leyland mechanical systems.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns.
- Good communication and coordination with drivers.
- Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
