About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the People & Culture department in Dubai, the Colleague Cafeteria Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Colleague Cafeteria, ensuring a clean, welcoming environment and consistently high-quality food offerings for all hotel colleagues. Colleague Cafeteria Supervisor reports to the People & Culture Manager.
As a Colleague Cafeteria Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Colleague Cafeteria, ensuring smooth and efficient service at all meal periods.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and availability in close collaboration with the culinary team.
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the dining area, including regular inspections.
- Support in menu planning by gathering feedback from colleagues and working with the kitchen team to ensure variety and balance.
- Manage colleague dining room staff, including scheduling, training, and performance follow-up.
- Uphold health and safety standards in compliance with HACCP and local food safety regulations.
As a Colleague Cafeteria Supervisor, we expect from you:
- High School diploma or equivalent; diploma in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food service or hospitality operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a small team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP certification preferred).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and maintain a positive attitude.
