We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Sculptor experienced in creating high-precision designs for precious metal minting applications, including coins, medals, and custom collectible items. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ArtCAM or CADCAM software, combined with artistic sensibility and technical knowledge. Experience of minting processes such as engraving, die preparation, and 3D modeling will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop 2D designs and 3D digital sculptures and reliefs for coins, medals, and bullion products in line with artistic and technical specifications.
Utilize ArtCAM/CADCAM software to create accurate and detailed models suitable for engraving, and die manufacturing processes.
Collaborate closely with the design, minting, and tool room teams to ensure seamless translation of digital designs into physical dies and final products.
Work on concept-to-production phases, including conceptual sketches, 3D modeling, digital sculpting, and file preparation for Engraving machine.
Modify and optimize existing designs for production efficiency and quality enhancement.
Maintain design archives and manage version control for digital files.
Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, quality standards, and precious metal minting tolerances.
Research and implement new tools, techniques, and innovations in digital sculpting and CADCAM for minting.
Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure fidelity of final products to digital models.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma/Degree preferred, Industrial Design, Jewellery Design, or Mechanical Engineering (or related fields).
Proven experience (3–5 years) as a Digital Sculptor or CADCAM designer in the precious metals, jewellery, or minting industry.
Proficiency in ArtCAM, CADCAM, or equivalent 3D design software (e.g., Rhino, MatrixGold).
Strong understanding of coin/medal relief design principles, die-making processes, and CNC machining.
Artistic ability to translate creative concepts into production-ready designs.
Knowledge of precious metal properties (gold, silver) and minting constraints.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work within deadlines.
Desired Skills
Experience in high-relief and low-relief sculpting for minting.
Familiarity with laser engraving and tool path generation for CNC.
Understanding of surface finishing techniques (polishing, frosting, matte).
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (design, tool room, production).
