Job Title: Estimation Manager
We're looking for an experienced Estimation Manager to lead our tendering and estimation process for construction projects. In this role, you'll ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and align with client requirements, playing a crucial part in our project success.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the Tendering & Estimation Process: Manage and lead the entire tendering and estimation process for proposed construction projects, from analyzing requirements to submitting proposals.
- Prepare Accurate Estimates: Review tender documents, project specifications, and drawings to prepare comprehensive and precise estimates and proposals.
- Collaborate & Coordinate: Liaise with Project Managers, Engineering, and Procurement teams to gather essential, up-to-date information for estimates.
- Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, material and labor estimates, and other relevant data for project budgeting and resource allocation.
- Ensure Competitiveness: Analyze and evaluate bid data to ensure estimates are both accurate and competitive in the market.
- Market Monitoring: Monitor market trends and prices, identifying potential risks and opportunities that could impact project budgets and schedules.
- Procurement & Negotiation: Collaborate with Procurement to obtain quotes and bids from subcontractors and vendors, negotiating pricing and terms to meet project budgets.
- Project Alignment: Participate in project review meetings to ensure estimates align with project scope and specifications.
- Client Engagement: Work with Project Managers to prepare and submit client proposals, participating in client presentations and meetings as needed.
- Develop & Maintain Tools: Develop and maintain estimation databases, tools, and templates to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all estimates, bids, and proposals.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in an estimation management role.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction design, processes, and techniques, along with familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in computer-aided design, estimation, and project management software.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
