Job Title: Estimation Manager

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimation Manager to lead and manage our tendering and estimation team. The Estimation Manager will be responsible for overseeing cost estimation, preparing competitive bids, and supporting the business development team in securing new projects. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of construction practices, local market rates, and contract terms, with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Tender and Estimation Activities
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Conduct material take-offs, labor analysis, and subcontractor evaluations.
- Prepare and compile BOQs, cost breakdowns, and technical/commercial submissions.
- Tender Management
- Review and manage all incoming tender invitations and RFQs.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal departments for clarifications and RFI submissions.
- Lead the preparation of technical and commercial bids and ensure timely submission.
- Team & Process Management
- Supervise and mentor the estimation team, ensuring high accuracy and performance.
- Implement and maintain estimation systems, cost databases, and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to internal approval workflows for pricing and margins.
- Cost Control & Post-Tender Follow-up
- Support procurement and project teams by providing detailed cost data post-award.
- Participate in contract negotiations and value engineering exercises when required.
- Monitor market trends, material costs, and supplier/subcontractor pricing.
- Reporting & Strategic Support
- Provide regular reports to senior management on bid status, win/loss analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Assist in developing pricing strategies for various types of projects (lump sum, re-measured, design & build).
- Contribute to business development by assessing project feasibility and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in estimation, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of fit-out, civil, MEP, and renovation works.
- Familiar with UAE market rates, local authority procedures, and construction regulations.
- Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., CCS Candy, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in fast-track and design-build projects.
- Membership in a professional body (e.g., RICS, AACEI).
- PMP or cost control certification is a plus.
