Job Description
Job Summary:
The Civil Inspector will be responsible for supervising and inspecting civil construction activities associated with Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects under Dubai Municipality. The role involves ensuring that all civil works, including underground utilities, tanks, structures, and pipelines, are executed in compliance with the approved design, specifications, and authority standards.
Job Duties:
- Review and apply applicable codes, standards, and project documents to civil works specific to STP projects (e.g., tanks, pipe galleries, aeration basins, channels, etc.).
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify that civil works are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and specifications.
- Monitor excavation, backfilling, formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, and finishing for STP-related structures.
- Verify alignments, levels, and dimensions of pipelines, chambers, manholes, and process units.
- Ensure contractor compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations and approved quality control procedures for infrastructure and STP facilities.
- Record and report daily manpower, equipment, and material deliveries used on-site.
- Supervise the execution of waterproofing, concrete curing, coating works, and other STP-specific civil components.
- Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) in issuing site instructions and verifying contractor responses.
- Coordinate with the contractor to resolve civil works issues and follow up on corrective actions.
- Prepare daily inspection reports including observations, testing updates, progress, and safety findings.
- Support measurement checks and surveying of pipe routes, levels, and structural tolerances.
- Monitor and support the testing, commissioning, and handover stages of civil STP works, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Assist in reviewing and responding to RFIs and variance requests related to civil components.
- Coordinate with the client’s representatives during inspections and prepare required documentation.
- Maintain organized records of inspections, NCRs, test results, and executed works.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical certification from a recognized institute.
Experience:
- Civil Engineering graduate with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in civil/infrastructure inspection.
- Diploma holder with at least 10years of relevant inspection experience.
- High school graduate with minimum 10 years of experience in similar civil works supervision
