We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is capable of handling complex system issues while supporting a diverse range of users.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and IT infrastructure (Windows/Linux environments).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high levels of availability and security.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and backup systems.
- Administer cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Google Workspace).
- Implement and maintain security policies, firewalls, antivirus protection, and intrusion detection systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff for hardware and software issues.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets, software licenses, and documentation.
- Automate routine tasks through scripting or tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support and procurement.
- Participate in IT audits, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity testing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux system administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing.
- Hands-on experience with Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA, or RHCSA.
- Experience with ITIL framework and ticketing systems like Jira, ServiceNow, or Zendesk.
- Knowledge of database management (SQL, MySQL) and basic DevOps principles.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
