Job Title: Leasing Agent – Real Estate
Job Summary:
The Leasing Agent is responsible for leasing residential or commercial properties to prospective tenants. This role involves marketing available properties, showing units, screening applicants, preparing lease agreements, and maintaining positive tenant relations. The Leasing Agent acts as the key point of contact between property owners and tenants to ensure high occupancy rates and tenant satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market and advertise available rental properties through various channels (online listings, social media, local advertising).
- Conduct property tours and show available units to prospective tenants.
- Screen applicants by reviewing rental applications, credit reports, employment history, and references.
- Prepare, explain, and process lease agreements and related paperwork.
- Collect security deposits and first month’s rent from tenants.
- Coordinate move-ins and move-outs with tenants and property management.
- Respond promptly to tenant inquiries and resolve issues to maintain tenant satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activity and tenant interactions.
- Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to ensure property upkeep.
- Stay informed about market trends, rental rates, and local regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in real estate or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in leasing, real estate sales, or property management preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local rental laws and fair housing regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient with real estate software and MS Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
