WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As an Onsite Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the performance, maintenance, and support of complex AV systems within a luxury hospitality environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring the uptime and quality of immersive content playback, digital signage, conferencing systems, projection mapping, and event AV. This includes Q-SYS, Pixera, Scalable Display Technologies, and more. You’ll work autonomously as the primary technical contact on-site, provide support across a diverse and dynamic venue, and contribute to the training and mentoring of junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Playback & Immersive Systems:
Operate and maintain high-resolution media servers such as Pixera and 7thSense.
Support media ingestion, content testing, synchronisation, show control triggers, and display performance.
Collaborate with creative/content teams to ensure reliable real-time and scheduled playback.
Ensure consistent media performance across LED walls, projection systems, and digital surfaces.
Projection Mapping:
Deploy, align, and calibrate projection systems using Scalable Display Technologies or manual techniques.
Perform edge blending, geometric correction, and spatial mapping.
Maintain firmware, software versions, and alignment logs for mapping systems.
Projector Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on high-brightness projectors, including:
Cleaning/replacing air filters
Inspecting lenses and housings
Monitoring lamp/laser usage
Calibrating image alignment
Verifying signal and firmware integrity
AV System Support and Maintenance:
Provide advanced support for Q-SYS DSPs, Crestron/Extron systems, signage platforms, and media players.
Conduct regular system checks, troubleshoot faults, and ensure firmware updates are applied.
Own AV health reporting, incident response, and performance optimisation.
Q-SYS and Control Systems:
Configure and maintain Q-SYS cores and control elements for DSP, automation, and routing.
Support firmware updates, device commissioning, and UI logic implementation.
Media Player and Digital Signage:
Manage BrightSign, Tripleplay, and similar digital signage players.
Ensure accurate scheduling, playback, and CMS connectivity across endpoints.
Working at Heights:
Regularly access systems via lifts, scaffolding, or MEWPs.
IPAF certification preferred for safe operation of elevated access equipment.
Event and Venue Support:
Set up, operate, and de-rig AV for events, conferences, and VIP functions.
Provide real-time support for audio, video, and switching during live events.
Documentation and Team Support:
Maintain system diagrams, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
Support onboarding and knowledge sharing with junior team members.
Provide performance insights and improvement suggestions to AVI-SPL operations management.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Required Skills & Certifications:
Strong technical skills across AV systems, playback servers, control logic, and projection mapping.
CTS certification is required.
Q-SYS Level 2 certification preferred.
IPAF license preferred.

Professional Experience:
Minimum 5 years hands-on AV experience, ideally including hospitality, events, or immersive attractions.
Experience in high-profile or mission-critical AV environments.
Technical Strengths:
Solid AV-over-IP and networked AV understanding
Strong knowledge of AV control and automation
Projector maintenance and calibration expertise
