Key Responsibilities:
Lead the installation, configuration, upgrading, and patching of Oracle database systems (12c, 19c, etc.) in development, test, and production environments.
Architect and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
Proactively monitor database performance and availability; lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.
Drive automation of routine DBA tasks through scripting and tools, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
Design and enforce database security policies including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control.
Oversee regular maintenance activities such as backups, restores, capacity planning, and storage management.
Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure engineers to optimize SQL queries, schema designs, and system performance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and serve as a subject matter expert in Oracle database technologies.
Develop, maintain, and enforce documentation for database configurations, procedures, disaster recovery plans, and best practices.
Stay up to date with Oracle technology trends, patches, and security vulnerabilities, and apply them proactively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration.
Proven experience with Oracle 12c, 19c (and later), including RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
Expertise in performance tuning (SQL, instance-level), diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Proficient in Unix/Linux shell scripting and automation tools.
Experience with large-scale enterprise systems and 24x7 production support environments.
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification strongly preferred.
