Job Summary:
The Scaffolding Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all scaffolding operations on the construction site. This includes supervising scaffolding teams, ensuring safety compliance, inspecting scaffold structures, and liaising with site management to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of scaffolders, ensuring efficient and safe erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding.
- Interpret and follow scaffolding plans and specifications.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure all scaffolding work complies with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Perform inspections and ensure proper tagging of scaffolds (e.g., green/yellow/red tag system).
- Maintain inventory of scaffolding materials and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Liaise with site supervisors, safety officers, and clients to meet project requirements.
- Train and mentor junior scaffolders.
- Complete necessary documentation such as job sheets, inspection forms, and progress reports.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a scaffolding foreman or senior scaffolder.
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems (tube & fitting, system scaffolds, etc.).
- Valid scaffolding certification (e.g., CISRS, OSHA, or equivalent).
- Familiar with local regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, or country-specific).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and scaffold designs.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights.
- First aid and safety training (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of scaffolding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of scaffold design software (optional but a plus).
