Purpose of Role/Summary:
The Team Lead of Data and Analytics’ role oversees a cross-functional Data & Analytics team, ensuring the delivery of reliable data pipelines, dbt models, and Power BI reporting within an AWS Redshift environment. It involves managing data quality, governance, and observability, optimizing Power BI Premium, and aligning data solutions with business needs. The role also promotes best practices in CI/CD, version control, and documentation while driving collaboration with stakeholders and supporting secure system integrations.
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional Data & Analytics team, driving excellence in data engineering and BI reporting
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and dbt models, orchestrated through Apache Airflow, ensuring performance and reliability in our AWS Redshift environment
- Ensure data quality, observability, and governance across all ingestion and reporting processes.
- Manage and optimize Power BI Premium (capacity, schema changes, endpoints, governance, performance)
- Lead the design of Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards to support business decision-making.
- Act as the primary liaison with business stakeholders/shareholders: gathering requirements, defining KPIs, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
- Promote and enforce best practices for version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and change management in both data engineering and reporting domains
- Support integration with external systems through APIs and secure data exchanges
- Build and maintain documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing within the team and across departments
- Any other duties that are requested and relevant to the role
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field
- 6+ years of combined experience in data engineering and BI/reporting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven expertise with AWS Redshift, Apache Airflow, dbt, SQL, and Python
- Expert-level knowledge of Power BI, including Power BI Premium administration (endpoints, schema changes, performance monitoring, governance)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and cloud-based architectures
- Excellent business acumen and ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Experience defining KPIs and translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Open Metadata) is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills

- Working hours are 09:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday
- The role can be either in Limassol (Cyprus) or Dubai (UAE)
