The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all technical aspects of construction projects from planning to execution. This includes ensuring that engineering designs, drawings, and site execution comply with client requirements, codes, standards, and project specifications. The role also involves coordination between design teams, consultants, and construction teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical team and supervise engineering activities across projects.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, and clients for design approvals and clarifications.
- Ensure technical compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve technical issues and provide support to site teams and project management.
- Monitor progress of technical deliverables and ensure timely submissions.
- Manage value engineering proposals and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Review tender documents, BOQs, and project specifications during pre-construction stages.
- Participate in technical meetings and progress reviews with clients and consultants.
- Ensure implementation of best practices, quality standards, and engineering procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in a technical role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design, drawings, materials, and building codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design/project management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- UAE experience and knowledge of local authority requirements is a plus.
