Assistant Sourcing Manager – Schools

About the role
We are currently recruiting an Assistant Sourcing Manager – Schools to join our team. The successful candidate will support the school’s procurement function by consolidating schools spend and ensuring value added procurement services to the schools. The Assistant Sourcing Manager will ensure timely delivery of paperwork such as invoices are processed on time.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure goods and services are bought at the lowest Total Acquisition Cost and delivered on time.
  • Help to establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned with the company’s goals and growth plans.
  • Help identify new suppliers and agree terms and conditions, negotiate supply agreements where appropriate within departmental boundaries, including discount structures and rebates.
  • Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Education, legal, finance and real estate as well as the schools.
  • Ensure all items purchased related to schools are delivered in a timely manner to avoid disruptions within the schools.
  • Evaluate and monitor schools purchase requisitions for proper authorisation, specification and legal compliance. Take responsibility for the procurement of those requisitions.
  • Assist the schools in the raising for requisitions and becoming the centre of excellence for schools procurement. Answer questions related to policy and procedure by the school as requested.
  • Help plan the delivery of critical items to the schools for new schools openings.

Qualifications, experience and skills:
Expected Qualifications:
  • Batchelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar

Expected Experience:
  • 3-5 years’ experience within a large organisation in Procurement.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Proven negotiating skills and influencing abilities.
  • Experience with business and commercial analysis.
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret commercial business documents and technical procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language. (Arabic desirable but not mandatory)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
