Position Summary:
The Fire Fighting technical officer is responsible for supervising fire prevention, protection, and emergency response operations. This includes managing fire-fighting personnel, overseeing equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating fire safety training and drills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead fire-fighting teams during emergency and non-emergency operations.
- Inspect and maintain fire-fighting equipment, fire detection systems, and hydrants.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Plan and conduct regular fire drills and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific fire safety codes.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to fire alarms, hazardous materials incidents, and rescue operations.
- Maintain accurate reports and records of fire incidents, inspections, and training.
- Liaise with local fire departments, safety officers, and emergency response agencies.
- Implement fire safety plans and evacuation procedures in coordination with other departments.
- Assist in developing fire emergency response strategies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements: Fire Fighting Technical officer
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Related Field).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fire-fighting operations, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of fire-fighting techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in writing reports and using incident management software.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in hazardous and high-stress environments.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass physical fitness assessments and medical evaluations.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
