Job Summary:
The Fleet In-Charge at Eco Drive is responsible for managing, maintaining, and scheduling all training vehicles to ensure smooth operations for student driving lessons. This role involves overseeing vehicle safety, maintenance, fuel efficiency, and compliance with road regulations, while also managing fleet staff(mechanics and helper) and ensuring optimal fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fleet Operations & Scheduling:
- Schedule and allocate vehicles efficiently for driving lessons, tests, and instructor use.
- Ensure all training vehicles are roadworthy, clean, and properly equipped (dual controls, signage, etc.).
- Monitor vehicle usage to prevent overuse or unnecessary wear and tear.
2. Maintenance & Repairs:
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles (brakes, tires, lights, etc.) to ensure safety compliance.
- Coordinate routine servicing, repairs, and annual inspections with approved garages.
- Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize breakdowns during lessons.
- Respond quickly to vehicle malfunctions or accidents to minimize disruption.
3. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all vehicles meet RTA and driving school safety standards.
- Keep up-to-date records of registration, insurance, PUC (Pollution Under Control), and permits.
- Train instructors/drivers on proper vehicle handling and emergency protocols.
- Report and document accidents, damages, or traffic violations involving school vehicles.
4. Fuel & Cost Management:
- Track fuel consumption and implement cost-saving measures.
- Monitor maintenance expenses and optimize fleet budget usage.
- Compare service providers for best pricing on repairs, fuel, and parts.
5. Team & Instructor Coordination:
- Ensure proper vehicle usage and care.
- Address concerns regarding vehicle performance.
- Maintain vehicle handover protocols (checklists, damage reporting).
6. Record-Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain digital/logbook records of vehicle servicing, fuel usage, and incidents.
- Use fleet management software (if applicable) for tracking and reporting.
- Provide monthly reports on fleet status, costs, and maintenance needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
✔ Experience: 3+ years in fleet management, auto maintenance, or driving school operations.
✔ Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle mechanics, safety checks, and basic repairs.
✔ Organizational Skills: Ability to schedule vehicles efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
✔ Problem-Solving: Quick response to breakdowns, accidents, or scheduling conflicts.
✔ Communication: Clear coordination with instructors, management, and service providers.
✔ Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with fleet tracking tools, spreadsheets (Excel), and reporting.
✔ Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of local driving school laws, RTA vehicle requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Automobile Engineering, Logistics, or Transport Management.
- Certification in Fleet Management or Automotive Service.
- Previous experience in a driving school, transport company, or auto workshop.
Working Conditions:
- Office + On-field (vehicle inspections, coordination with garages).
- May require occasional weekend/evening work for urgent repairs or exams.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED5,500.00 per month
