Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil / Roads Engineer to join our Construction Supervision team! In this role this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer (RE) and the Assistance Resident Engineer (ARE) in design review and construction related to civil works of the project .
What You'll Be Doing:
Direct the site supervision related to road and associated works including infrastructure and dry utility works.
Coordinate his direct activities with RE to maintain consistency and integrity in the overall construction.
Responsible for reviewing all shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, Material submittals and any requests for information relating to the roads and associated works.
Maintain the Civil Engineer’s daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.
Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.
Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of the road work and associated works including the site engineers, the work inspectors and the surveyors.
Coordinate with RE, the Contractor and related concerned authorities.
Supervise, review, monitor and report on the progress of the road and associated works to the RE.
Liaise with all parties for site safety and quality of works.
Attend regular site meetings about issues related to road work and related activities.
Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the RE, and the Project Safety Representative.
Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue indications concerning roadworks, utilities and other related activities.
Report back as necessary to the Resident Engineer.
Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs programmed work.
Prepare progress reports as applicable.
Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings in the area of his discipline.
Work experience on a metro rail project is preferrable.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
Minimum of 7 years experience in construction supervision or operation and maintenance of roads, bridges, and infrastructure projects in the UAE/GCC
Be fully computer literate and proficient in using technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
Demonstrable experience in all aspects of civil supervision on general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.
Should be able to review and justify the material submissions analyze and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s Specifications.
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Demonstrate strong technical writing abilities.
