To ensure the smooth operation, preventive maintenance, and performance optimization of all PLC and HMI-controlled production and packing systems in an FMCG manufacturing environment. The role is critical in minimizing downtime, ensuring machine reliability, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRA):
1. Machine Operation Monitoring
Ensure uninterrupted operation of PLC-based production lines and HMI-operated packing machines.
Monitor system parameters, alarms, and act promptly on faults or abnormalities.
2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PLC logic, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
3. PLC & HMI Programming Support
Assist in modifying or optimizing PLC logic (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley) as per production changes.
Work with automation vendors on HMI software updates and integrations.
4. Efficiency Improvement
Identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve machine cycle time, reduce changeover time, and increase energy efficiency.
Contribute to OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) tracking and corrective action planning.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, breakdown root cause analysis, and spare part consumption.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance and downtime reports.
6. Spare Parts & Inventory Control
Ensure availability of critical automation spares and manage inventory levels.
Initiate timely purchase requisitions and optimize inventory to reduce holding costs.
7. Safety & Compliance
Follow electrical and machine safety procedures, including lockout-tagout practices.
Support internal/external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company SOPs.
8. Training & Team Collaboration
Train operators and junior staff on basic troubleshooting and safe handling of PLC/HMI equipment.
Work closely with Production, QC, and Planning departments for coordinated operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in FMCG industry with hands-on exposure to automated production and packaging lines.
Strong technical knowledge in PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMIs, and industrial sensors.
Sound understanding of maintenance planning, industrial safety, and GMP practices.
