Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with 2–3 years of experience in Metal Decorative Works or Architectural Metalworks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tendering, project estimation, negotiation, and budget planning. A strong understanding of metal pricing, raw materials, coatings, and the ability to identify metal scopes from IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and ID drawings and conceptual images is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze IFC drawings to identify the scope of metal works involved in projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for architectural and decorative metal works including fabrication, materials, finishes, and installation.
Conduct budget planning and assist in cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Work on tenders and bid preparations, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
Monitor market trends in metal raw materials and coating prices to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
Collaborate with the design, procurement, and project teams to ensure alignment of estimates with actual site requirements.
Participate in value engineering, proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
Maintain an updated database of suppliers, material costs, and market rates for quick reference and accurate future estimations.
Prepare and present cost reports, BOQs, and pricing summaries for internal and client meetings.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
2–3 years of experience in estimation related to architectural or decorative metal works.
Proven experience in tendering, project estimation, negotiations, and budget planning.
Strong understanding of metal pricing, raw material trends, and coating/finishing prices (e.g., powder coating, galvanizing, PVD, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, especially IFC drawings and ID drawings and convert conceptual inages or sketches into estimation data.
Proficiency in estimation software, AutoCAD, and MS Office (Excel in particular).
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work under tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks).
Previous experience with custom decorative elements or high-end architectural features.
Exposure to international codes/standards for metal works.
