Social Media and Outreach Coordinator for the Arab World

To coordinate PETA Asia’s online, media and on-the-ground campaigns in Arab-speaking regions.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Help develop regional and country specific marketing and media plans to reach audiences according to various celebrity campaigns, video launches, investigations, or other news releases
  • Create videos from concept to completion to share via the organization’s social media (Facebook and Instagram) channels in Arabic
  • Produce print graphics and advertisements to use in the organization’s online work
  • Create compelling content—both words and imagery—for PETA’s various social-media sites
  • Stay current on social media trends and how to take advantage of them
  • Respond to comments on social media
  • Prepare, translate, and manage news releases for celebrity ads and videos, investigations, and other campaigns
  • Develop media target lists for issue and campaign coverage
  • Help coordinate media efforts at the launch of celebrity campaigns or news conferences
  • Maintain and update media database
  • Develop activists across the region
  • Meet with officials as needed
  • Inspect facilities as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Proven experience with video editing software, including but not limited to Adobe Premiere Pro, EDIUS Pro, and Final Cut Pro
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong working knowledge of all stages of video editing, including assembling recorded raw footage into a finished product
  • Strong creative and digital technology skills
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues in The Middle East
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral skills in both English and Arabic, some knowledge of media outlets and how to effectively reach them preferred
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Self-motivation and the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA’s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues
